I accidentally shipped a big lot if Sweet Valley High books to the wrong person on Ebay. That same day I realized it and went online and retracted it, and because of the weight, it cost about $50.00 to send back to me including the retraction cost. It sat in a postal facility in the town I accidentally shipped it to for 11 days before being sent back. When I received it, I couldn't believe the mail carrier was able to just pick it up and set it on my porch because it was so heavy when I sent it, it was almost too heavy for my strong husband to carry at all. I had previously talked to my local post office about why it was taking so long to get sent back. They gave me a phone number to call, but it's automated and you can't talk to anyone or leave a message. So I opened the box, and about HALF of the books I sent were missing. NO, they didn't get stolen off my porch! THEY WERE STOLEN FROM SOMEWHERE IN THE POSTAL SYSTEM!. I was home when it got delivered and took it inside right away. There was nothing I could do, and by the way, I had been following it online, and one day the return postage cost DRASTICALLY changed to a cheaper price. Now I know why. It didn't weigh as much upon return, because SOMEONE IN THE POSTAL SYSTEM STOLE HALF THE BOOKS! That's obviously why they sat in the postal system for 11 days. Someone kept them there long enough to open and steal the books.I had the box packed full and neatly. When I got it back all the books were jumbled around. NEVER got ANY resolution to this. Didn't insure it because I have NEVER BEFORE had a problem with books I send media mail getting stolen from INSIDE the postal system.
